BJJ black belt Dillon Danis made his highly anticipated MMA debut at Bellator 198, and as expected, won by submission in the first round.
Danis is a highly touted Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, who burst onto the MMA scene by being a training partner to none other than the Notorious Conor McGregor, who congratulated Danis immediately after his big win.
In a very Team McGregor fashion, Danis celebrated his victory by brashly calling out another high level opponent.
All the bums on the rest of the card are going to call me out now. I came here to die. That motherf—ker had to kill me. I can give you a whole seminar on how to defeat MMA with jiu-jitsu. I’m the one who made this card. Second biggest card in the company. I was thinking, maybe, Ben Askren [next]. We’ll see.
Askren responded by pointing out the fact that Danis did not exactly beat a “high level” MMA fighter in Kyle Walker, who dropped to 2-5 after the loss to Danis.
He realizes this isn’t reality so he feels safe doing so. Maybe he should fight someone with a winning record first https://t.co/X2dGlYTVyI

Although Askren is currently “retired”, he’s been calling out high profile fighters from the sidelines and perhaps Danis will be the one to bring him back to the cage.
